Accredited University Courses

Many universities have undergone the accreditation process to date.  A list of those accredited universities is given below.

The following indicates the code for each component standard:

IEPE - Interpretation, Evaluation & Presentation of Evidence
CSI - Crime Scene Investigation
Lab Analysis - Laboratory Analysis
CNERA - Computer Network Evidence Recovery and Analysis
DEARP - Digital Evidence Analysis, Recovery and Preservation
Anth - Forensic Anthropology
Arch - Forensic Archaeology

Please note that this accreditation is based first and foremost on the forensic aspects of the designated courses.  These forensic aspects are defined in the Forensic Science Society's Component Standards.  The specialist topics involved in the courses such as anthropology and archaeology are not assessed beyond the contribution made by the specialism to the achievement of the Component Standards.   However the Society is aware that there would be value in expanding our accreditation scheme to include some of the specialist topics themselves.  With this in mind it is in the process of actively expanding our range of Component Standards to cover a selection of these.  The first specialism to be accredited under the Forensic Science Society's Accreditation Scheme in this way is the digital forensic arena.  Please follow the website for further updates.

The National Occupational Standards are applicable to various employment roles whilst the Society's Component Standards are invaluable in addressing the educational and development needs pertaining to relevant roles in the forensic field.
